Retired Sergeant James A. Babb passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the age of 53. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He joined the Houston Police Department on October 5, 1989, Academy Class #136. During his career with the Houston Police Department he was assigned to the Westside Division, Community Services Division, Office of Public Affairs, and Field Operations, retiring on December 10, 2011.
Born in Tampa, Florida on February 18, 1964, Jim is preceded in death by his father Cecil Kennith Babb, and survived by three daughters: Brittaney E. Babb, Gabrielle G. Babb and Madison N. Babb; Mother: Janice F. Sandwick; Step Fathers: E. Jessie Samford and Richard R. Sandwick, and Brother: C. Kennith Babb, Jr.
A Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, 281-497-2330 on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Sunday, July 23, 2017 starting at 2:30 p.m.
