Remembering Jadwiga “Lola” Maria Mannarino, of Houston, Texas on the best of days of her life; would be by the incredible aroma of whatever was being cooked that day flooding out from the front door, at the Mannarino household. Lola passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023.
She is survived by her husband Guy Mannarino and their son, Richard Mannarino. Her brother Lech and Lauren Mazur, and their three children Richard, Victoria, and Stephen along with his wife Katie and Lola’s Grandniece Mary Elizabeth, her best friends Victoria Lane, and her son David Lane, and so many more who were influenced by her compassion and devotion.
Jadwiga met Guy Joeseph Mannarino in 1970. They were married 10 months later, on October 10, 1971. Their first son Christopher Mannarino was born on May 8th, 1972 two months early and nearly lost his life at birth. Overcoming overwhelming odds of all sorts, they moved to Houston, TX in 1978.
She worked for 14 years in the Fort Bend ISD as a cafeteria manager, feeding over five hundred children and staff members every day. Jadwiga was also quite an entrepreneur, engaging in a variety of professions from co-owning a local pizza shop to selling Avon, Tupperware, cake decorating, and her own jewelry business, Midnight Creations.
A funeral service for Jadwiga will be held on Friday, October 6th, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery,
