Mrs. Jackie Cornwell, a Houston resident since 1968, expired peacefully on May 17th, 2017 . She was born and raised in Kansas and graduated from Hutchinson Junior College in 1947. A Loving Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, she was known affectionately to her family as “Me-Ma”. She is survived by three sons, Dennis and wife Marion, Mike and wife JoAnna, Randy and wife Zoe, all of Houston, and one daughter, Connie, and husband Pat, of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, eight grandchildren (Christopher, Alicia, Amy, Chelsea, Zachary, Skye, Brittany and Patrick, and great-granddaughter, Selah). She had three older sisters, Charlotte Walker and Polly Stotts, of Hutchinson, Kansas and Emma Frager and husband Bob of Greeley, Colorado.
With a strong faith in God, Jackie believed each day was a gift. She loved a good joke and a great sense of humor was her by-line. Jackie had been a volunteer at the Memorial Hospital system for 25 years and arranged flowers and ran the register in their gift shop. She was a member of Kaleidoscope Sunday School class at Chaplewood United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at Chapelwood on Saturday, May 20th at 10 am in the Chapel, 11140 Greenbay St, Houston, TX 77024 . A reception will follow at the church in the Garden Room. Interment will be at Forest Park Westheimer.
