Jack “Jay” Moise McKnight went home to be with his Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of April 6, 2013, following an extended struggle with cancer. Jay was born October 27, 1953 in Orange, TX. He graduated from Robert E Lee High School and attended University of Texas and Sam Houston State University. He was employed by Morrison Supply Company for the past decade. Jay enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Jay had a great sense of humor and a laugh that could be heard throughout the room. Jay was preceded in death by his father, Jack Moise McKnight, Sr. and his grandparents. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his daughter, Cati Manley and 2 grandchildren Jewels and Jewelianna; his mother, Dorothy Ussery and husband James; brothers Mark and wife Cherri, Craig and wife Ginger, Scott and wife Samantha; sisters Leslie and husband Richard, Donna and husband Carlos, along with many nephews and nieces.
Family and friends wishing to celebrate Jay’s life are invited Thursday, April 11, 2013 to St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Community at 10135 West Road, Houston, Texas starting at 11:00 AM with visitation with the family and friends, 1:00 PM funeral service with a reception following at the church with food and drink. At 2:45 PM those that wish to travel to the graveside will leave for the 3:30 PM burial at Forest Park Cemetery at 12800 Westheimer.
