J. Lennette Seay (affectionately known as “Pie”) was born on May 21, 1947 to Joy (Jordan) and James Seay in Omaha, Nebraska. Lennette was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord, her family, and community.
Lennette married Ronald Clark Gunter, also of Omaha in 1968. Their union of 41 years was blessed with two children, Stephani Len and Ronald Christopher.
Ron and Lennette lived in many states across the country including Colorado, New Jersey, California, Tennessee, Missouri, and Texas.
Lennette received a Bachelor of Arts in Management from St. Mary’s College of California in 1983. She started her career in Human Resources management at IBM and ultimately retired from Deutsche Financial.
She always had a great sense of style and fashion beginning with her childhood cowboy boots, graduating to the 1980s “Dynasty” era business attire and finally her coordinated athleisure retirement wear.
Lennette loved and took special care of her pets Buffy, and her rescue golden retrievers, Bear and Barkley. Known for her love of baking, it was not uncommon for there to be an assortment of delicious baked treats at any given time.
Lennette was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, mother and father, sister, Gwendolyn Townsend, and niece, Enid Townsend.
Lennette is survived by her loving daughter, Stephani Gunter of St. Paul, MN, devoted son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Nichole Gunter of Houston, TX; grandsons, Devin and Austin, sisters, Cammile Garrett, Seryia Seay, Paulette Mullen, and sister-in-law, Sharon Rhodes. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
