He was born in Houston, Texas on February 10, 1921. I.V. graduated from high school in Houston and enlisted in the Navy in 1942. He fought in WWII as a radioman 3rd class and served in the Pacific. He married Gloria Medellin on September 22, 1946. I.V. worked as a Lithographer for Stech & Vaughn and Houston Lithographers in Houston and Austin. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the G.I. Forum and the American Legion, and had a passion for the Houston Astros, vegetable gardening and roses.
He is survived by his son, Rolando, and daughter-in-law Barbara, his grandson, Lewis and many much-loved nephews, nieces, as well as grand and great-grand nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria and his parents Andres and Petra Romo.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Forest Park Lawndale.
