God bless you Sgt. Null and rest in peace.  To his family, I knew Sgt. Null as my Westbury Sr. High Commandant - circa 1971 -1974.  He was a great leader and I’ll never forget some of the stories he told me about his military experiences.  Sgt. Null was truly a witness to history.  Many times I wished I’d reconnected with him - even as recently as the date now that I know he passed.  He was also a true gentleman,  Sgt. Null exhibited honor, and set a good example.  He had been a DI in the Army, and had a short fuse for stupid.  One day, a couple of disrespectful surfer types through rocks at the ROTC shack.  Sgt. Null went outside, outran them, and with a grip of iron, grabbed up one in each hand, and with a face as red as a strawberry he took both directly to the Principle’s office.  Sorry for the tangent - but that man had quite an impact on me that influence me to this day.  Mark Clark

Papa, words can't express how much you mean to me. Everyday since you left us I expect to see your name on my phone calling to see how the kids and I are doing. Wether it was about the weather, the news or the house next door, you always managed to make me laugh. I loved spending time with you listening to all the stories about your childhood or military career. I will forever think of you when I watch the price is right and hear you griping about how the people jump up and down and look silly. Even though my heart is broken, I know you're at peace and with your love, Mama. I love you with all of my being and will see you again one day...

I AM PRETTY SURE THIS IS SGT. NULL THAT TAUGHT ROTC AT MILBY HIGH SCHOOL FROM 1974 -1975 MY SR. YEAR .I HAD JUST RECENTLY FOUND HIS ADDRESS AND WAS GOING TO GO VISIT WITH HIM . I AM SO SORRY TO READ OF HIS PASSING . MY PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU ALL AT THIS TIME . MAY THE LORD JESUS CHRIST GIVE YOU ALL PEACE DURING THIS TIME . Pop, I wasn't ready to say good bye but then I probably would never have been ready.  My biggest consolation is that you did not suffer at all and you are no longer in any pain.  My last words to you were I love you just like I told you most nights when you called at 9:00.  So every night at 9:00 I will look to heaven and tell you I love you and goodnight. Be ready. I love you and miss you already!
