Hubert Thomas, Sr.

Hubert Thomas known to many as Gut was one of seven Boys and three girls born to the union of Milton Sr. and Rosa Thomas on May 1,1947. Hubert was reared in China, TX where he attended grade school until graduating from James H Henderson High School in 1966. He was a great Athlete in Sports: Football, Track and Basketball. He was also one of the best Drummers around town, He played with many groups. He played drums for Our Mother or Mercy for years while in attendance as a member. He was also a US Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. He was employed by the City Of Houston for 16 years then was employed by Harris County for 10 years then retired. He then drove buses for Goodman Transportation. In 1968 he married Elva Lee Victoria and from the union two children were born Rodney and Hubert Jr. , they later divorced. He later married Ellionora Holmes and from the union one child was born Melissa He later married his life long partner whom he's currently married to Carloyn James. He was committed to demonstrating how to share, help and carry your fellow Brother when in need. He was a true Gentleman in life. He loved his friends Mr. Don Sam and Mr. Ralph Cooper at the KCOH Radio Station. He was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver and was a member of the Usher Board. He also worked with the J.H. Henderson School Reunion for many years. He and his wife Carolyn were inseparable. They enjoyed life together as husband and wife. He is preceded in death by his parents Milton Sr. and Rosa and Five Brothers: Lester, Ernest, Jessie, James and Elton as well as his Two Sisters: Annie Lou and Jackie. Hubert is survived by his Loving Wife Carolyn, Daughter Melissa (Atlanta,GA), Sons Rodney(Houston,TX) , Hubert Jr.(Houston, TX) , Step Sons Saidi Bakari(Houston, TX) and Gregory Ndlovu(Nassau Bahamas), Eight Grandchildren, One Sister Mary Lou(Beaumont,TX), Two Brothers Milton Jr.(Beaumont, TX),Joseph(Beaumont ,TX) and many nieces,nephews,cousins, friends and other relatives
