Hoang Ba Do was born on November 18, 1962 in Saigon, Vietnam. There, he began his journey of life bringing joy and laughter to all he came across. After 20 years, he brought his bright smile and nonsensical jokes with him to Houston, Texas where he started a family of his own. His family viewed him as a mentor who was able to make the best of any situation even though there were many obstacles in life. He blessed everyone with many irreplaceable memories before departing on November 2, 2021 at 10:18 AM.
Family played a big role in his life. He shared many moments traveling around the world with his loving wife. He was the man of the house and an inspiration to his two children, Matthew and Linh Do. When you look at his children you can see his influence on them, Matt with his personality and Linh with her compassion. He always continued to encourage them to be the best version of themselves despite any hardships, but he did not stop there. He continued to be a father figure to his nieces and nephews by offering help, advice, and material things. He was seen as the glue of the family by his siblings.
Hoang spent most of his time with friends and family, whether it was playing sports frequently, eating at his usual restaurants, or traveling around the world. His passion for sports originated from his time competing in soccer tournaments in Vietnam. After moving to Houston, he picked up tennis quickly and made long lasting relationships with people who shared the same interests. It became a routine to meet with his friends at Pho Danh every weekend to brag about his superior athleticism. Not only did he like to eat pho, he also made it a goal to try diverse foods from various countries; that led him to traveling around the world.
Hoang was a great father, husband, mentor, sibling, and friend. The wisdom he passed down to the younger generation will forever be with them, and his cheerful personality will remain in the memories of the people he impacted.
