Herman C. Davila

Herman C. Davila passed away on July 8, 2016 in Houston Texas on his 83rd birthday. He was born in Rosenberg, Texas on July 8, 1933. As a boy, he loved playing baseball with his siblings and friends. From the many stories heard about Herman and his long life, he was very charismatic and adventurous as a young boy. At the age of 17 he married his high school sweet heart Linda Saucedo.

Soon after, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri to begin their life together. They had two sons and one daughter. As a father and husband, his family meant everything to him. He was a hard worker and was always dedicated to providing for his family. Herman was a self - made man, his trade was sheet metal. He started his own roofing and siding business called “Davco”. He had a very successful business and took pride in his work. His sons followed in his footsteps and soon Davco became a family business.

In the seventies, he moved his family back to Houston Texas where he lived in Sharpstown for a good 25 years. He was very active with the church and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. In 2003, he moved back to Rosenberg with his family. He retired at the age of 65 and spent the remaining part of his life enjoying time with his grandchildren. He loved his grandkids very much and they loved him just as equally. Herman Davila has had many accomplishments in life, but the biggest would be his family. He will never be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his father Luis Davila and mother Otilia Cortez; sisters Ruth, Mary Frances, and Nomie; brothers Dore, Israel, and Luis; daughter Gloria Davila.

Herman is survived by his wife of 66 years Linda S. Davila; son Herman Davila Jr. and wife Brenda of Kansas City, Missouri; son Orlando Davila and wife Jenny of China; grandchildren Tara and husband David Zepeda of Rosenberg, Texas; Babette, Angelic, Brook Ann and husband Rob Briggs, Mallory, Krystal, Christian Luke and wife Chelsea all of Kansas City, Missouri, and Mia; great grandchildren Ashley Renee, David Logan, Christian Michael, Ainsley, and Emerson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
