Hector Leal Cuêllar was born on September 13, 1931 in Mexico to parents, Juan Cuêllar and Dolores Davila Leal. As a kid, he enjoyed living in his parents ranch with his three older brothers. As the baby of the family he was spoiled by his Mom! He had a very special closeness to his loving Mom! Later as a young man he ventured into the city to seek out a life for himself. That's when he learned how to be a linotype operator, which is those days was a good career. He studied hard and became so proficient that he was able to get a job at the number one newspaper company in Matamoros, Mexico. "El Bravo". He met my Mom in 1954 and got married on January 31, 1955. Mom was impressed with this charm and quick wit not to mention his great sense of humor! Later after a difficult process of obtaining the necessary documentation/exams to enter the U.S., my parents made the arduous journey to bring all their five children (at the time) to the land of opportunity, the United States of America! He continued to work hard for many years! Even after he retired, he still wanted to earn a wage and not be relying on the government for a handout. His work ethic and strength continues to embody his children and grandchildren.
