Harold W. Hogue, 84, went to be with the lord in his heavenly home on January 8, 2023. He was born on September 8, 1938, in Carthage, MS to parents Wiley Franklin Hogue and Opal Bowie Hogue. Harold was an entrepreneur, establishing alongside with his wife Mary Frances Yonnes Hogue, Houston Vacuum Cleaner Co. and The Hotel Motel Engineering Association. The business is still going strong after 50 years. Harold served in the Navy for 4 years where he studied electronics and communications. He was stationed at several different posts during that time, including Jacksonville, FL.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother James Hogue and sister-in-law Lucille Yonnes Hogue.
He is survived by his 4 children Wiley Lavelle Hogue and wife Bonnie, Kimberly Ann Hogue, Sheri Lee Ebarb and husband Craig, Jeri Lynne Maito and husband Michael; 8 grandchildren Jennifer Rose, Brittany Elizabeth, Wesley Lavelle, Ryan Casey, Colby Blake, Bailee Lynne, Matthew Gabrielle-Wayne and Brianne Elizabeth; 10 great-grandchildren Brett, Canaan, Carter, Jesse, Eli, Olivia, Harper, Olivia Lynn and Finnley; brother Ernest Lavelle Hogue and wife Rosemary. Harold also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who he truly loved.
Harold loved his Sunday homemade meals, which of course had to come with his cornbread. Harold loved reading the bible, watching old western/history movies, and listening to old western songs. He especially loved his animals and he would take in any that came to his property. His most favorite things were to visit with family and friends, travel, and tell funny jokes and stories, oh how that made loved to talk. Harold loved the lord and never met a stranger. Some of the best stories and memories were created on his back porch. As my dad would say “Thank you Jesus” for allowing this wonderful man to live a long happy life. He will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends for visitation, Monday, 16, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Funeral Service at 10:00 AM in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039 followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park and lunch in the reception room.
