An angel flew home today! Harold Ernest Butler, beloved son, father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and proud Marine fell asleep Monday night, and drifted into eternal rest early Tuesday morning. He was born in October of 1920, to Helen and Mahlon Buter in New Jersey. As many young men in the 1940’s did, Harold joined the service to serve and protect our country during World War II. A member of the United States Marines, he fought in the South Pacific until 1946, when he returned home to reunite with his wife, Muriel, whom he met and married only days before he shipped out with his unit! Harold and Muriel lived and raised their daughter, Janice, in Sebago, Maine. He worked various factory jobs, was an avid fisherman and hunter and a member of the Sebago Lions Club. He was retired and living in Houston, Texas with his granddaughter at the time of his death. Harold is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Muriel Bacheldor Butler, and his daughter Janice Lynn. His granddaughter Juliet, and great grandchildren Carley, Elizabeth, Sabrina and Delila, and Adrian Junior, his sister Bernice, and many friends in Maine, Florida, New Jersey and Texas, will carry his memory forever, and wish him peace in Heaven above. We love you Gramps! Harold E. Butler October 21, 1920—March 10, 2015
