Hannah Leigh Butler born the 5th of January 1992, to Lee and Elizabeth Butler, passed away Wednesday, the 12th of November 2014, in Houston, Texas at the age of 22. She was a sweet, loving daughter, sister, and friend to many.
Hannah was born in New Orleans, and grew up in Houston where she attended Memorial High School followed by Baylor University. She was studying Sociology and planned to pursue a career in counseling. Hannah had a loving heart and gentle soul. She was a joy to be around and brought so much love, laughter and happiness to all she met.
While at Baylor, Hannah was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and lived in the "Kappa Kappatal" with her best friends and their dog, Henry. Friendships were very important to Hannah, and she was blessed with many.
She attended Camp Ozark from the age of eight and loved being involved with Ozone throughout high school. Hannah's faith and trust in God were undeniable; Christ's everlasting love was evident in all aspects of her life, and she is now at peace with Him in Heaven.
She is survived by her parents, Lee and Elizabeth Butler, sister Katie Tahbaz and her husband Farbod Tahbaz and their son Cameron, brother Andrew Butler, her grandfather, Glen Butler, and countless friends.
A memorial service is to be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon, Monday, the 17th of November, at South Main Baptist Church, 4100 Main Street, where Pastor Steve Wells is to officiate. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception.
In lieu of customary remembrances, and for those desiring, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Hannah's name be directed to the Mercy Street Ministry at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay, Houston, TX, 77024; or the General Missions Fund at Ecclesia Church Houston, 1100 Elder Street, Houston, TX, 77007, where Hannah served as an active member. Funds there will be used towards drilling a Living Water International well in Hannah's honor.
