Gloria Dean Lewis

ON April 24, 2023, Gloria Dean Lewis was welcomed into eternal rest.

Gloria was born August 24, 1944, in Houston, Texas, to Ernest Lewis and Gloria Bell. She attended and graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in 1962.

Gloria was a person who enjoyed life and, along that journey, she met George Black. On February 16, 1966, they welcomed their only child, Reginald Tyrone Lewis. Gloria was always proud of her son and, even as he grew older, she referred to him as “my baby.”

Gloria leaves us with a beautiful legacy. She was a passionate sports viewer who loved her Texans, Astros and Rockets. She never missed a game, and she was in good company, since her love of sports was shared by her father, Ernest, and son, Reginald. When she wasn’t rooting for her teams, she liked word puzzle books and was an avid reader. We will always cherish the memories.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Lewis and Gloria Bell; brothers, Ocie and James; and sister, Jacqueline.

Gloria is survived by her son, Reginald Lewis and wife, Annette; grandchildren, Sydney, Megan and Reginald, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Harrison, Aaliyah and Ava; sisters, Cecil and husband, Michael, and Beatrice “Peewee”; brother, Kenneth and wife, Shelly; Goddaughters, Nikki and Rhonda; and many relatives and friends. Her family will miss her dearly.

Rest well, Gloria. You are loved and will be forever missed.

A visitation for Gloria will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00pm at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, Tx, 77088. Funeral services immediately following. The

committal will be Monday, May 1, 2023 from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at Paradise Cemetery North Location, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088.
