He graduated from Lamar University with a B.B.A. in Accounting in 1957. He commenced his career in Houston in 1957 with Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Corporation. He advanced in his career and became the Director of Gas Accounting. He spent his entire career at Transco and retired after 38 years of service with the company.
Throughout his career he was active in the American Gas Association and the Southern Gas Association.
Glen was an avid golfer and bowler. He played on the Transco bowing league for 35 years. He was active in the Williams/Transco Retiree Club where he served as Treasurer for 5 years. He was also a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church for 48 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Anthony and Lucy Thomas and his brother, Clarence George (Kemy) Thomas. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jo Ann; children, Debra Ann Bartolomeo and husband, Robert; Diane Kelsay and husband, Craig; Paul Thomas and wife, Raquel; sister, Penny Mosca and husband, Leonard; grandchildren, Dustin and Brandon Bartolomeo, Paige and Robert Kelsay, Nicholas and Gabriela Thomas and by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Glen was a very compassionate and loyal person and was always ready to help those in need. The family is very grateful for very dear friends who were always loyal and supportive during his lengthy illness.
Family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, November 13 at the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway with a Rosary at 5 pm by the Amiketos Club. Funeral mass will be 10am, Monday, November 14 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, at 9900 Stella Link with burial to follow at Forest Park Lawndale.
