Gilbert Hugh Rogers

Gil attended Port Neches Groves High School in Port Neches, Texas. He completed his Registered Nurse degree, but had a passion for cosmetology, of which he pursued. He enjoyed a very successful career for over 25 years in Florida and Clear Lake, Texas winning multiple awards and contest.

On January 10, 1995 Gil met the love of his life Devin Jones and shared the next 30 years together on their farm in Manvel, Texas, and just recently moved to Navasota, Texas.

Gil loved all animals, especially Heritage cattle breeds and poultry. His real joy was raising and showing his Nubian goats. He also enjoyed taking vegetables from his garden to Nassau Bay Farmers Market at Erma’s Nutrition Center. He could be found there on a Saturday greeting his customers and laughing with friends.

Gil is survived by his husband Devin Jones of Navasota, Texas; mother Georgia Griffith of Alvin, Texas; sister Margaret Rogers, and many lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his father W.H. Rogers III, and step-father Gene Griffith.
