GERVIS HEYNE CLAUSEL, 80, died on the 9th of September 2012. Born on the 13th of February 1932, in Houston, Gervis was a native Houstonian where she was a member of First Methodist Church. Gervis attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She was a member of the Junior League of Houston, alumnae association of Delta Delta Delta, and member of River Oaks Country Club. Following the death of her father, Charles G. Heyne, Gervis became President of the Charles G. Heyne Company for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and La Delle Heyne, husband, Calvin Luther Clausel, JR., children Benjamin Hunt Cunningham, Marie Cunningham Schroff, and step son, David Clausel. Gervis is survived by her sons Asa E. Cunningham, JR and wife, Kathleen of Fairfax, Virginia, Charles F. Cunningham and wife Kathryn of Crockett, Texas, son-in-law Richard Schroff of Corvalis, Oregon, step daughter Caroline Clausel and husband Scott Skordahl of Edina, Minnesota. Grandchildren: Kevin Cunningham, Nicholas Cunningham, Kathryn King and husband Robert, Karalyn Cunningham, Richard C. Schroff, JR. and wife, Marisa, Emily Schroff , and Abigail Schroff. Step Children: Audrey Bourg and husband Sean, Spencer Peter, and Kyle Skordahl. Great grandchildren: Samantha King, Charles King, and William Schroff, and numerous cousins.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care and compassion of Memorial Hermann Hospice.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 11th of September, at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The funeral service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 12th of September in the Jasek Chapel at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons.
The interment will follow, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
