On September 8, 2021, Gary Joseph Bronikowski, passed away at his home in Tomball Texas, surrounded by his loving wife and devoted children. He was a young 65 years old with plenty of things left in life that he wanted to do.
Gary is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janice (Mixon) Bronikowski, his oldest son Gary Wayne Bronikowski, daughter-in-law Annie (Czepinski) Bronikowski, youngest son James Bronikowski, and three grandchildren, Brock, Bryce, and Brody.
Gary was born in Houston, Texas, on June 20, 1956. His parents were Charlie and Julia (Tomczak) Bronikowski. He was the second of three sons, and is survived by his twin brother Larry and younger brother Terry.
After graduating high school in 1974 from Sam Houston, Gary, his brother Larry, and friend David co-owned their own machine shop where they built equipment for the oil industry. With a downturn in the oil market, Gary joined the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and embarked on a career of over 35 years in law enforcement.
Aside from working, Gary coached little league baseball for both of his sons throughout their childhood. He guided them in raising cattle and eventually show steers for the high school FFA program. Gary shared a special bond with them and was proud of what they both went on to accomplish in life. He loved hunting with his family and was always the “head chef” at camp, which allowed him to enjoy his passion of cooking for others.
After retirement, Gary’s life revolved around his grandchildren, or his “Little Cowboys” as he called them. He loved to take them to test drive new farm equipment and teaching them the work involved in raising cattle, such as fixing pasture fence and bailing hay.
Gary was a member of the Texas Brangus Breeders Association and enjoyed raising his cattle and preparing his heifers and bulls for annual spring and fall sales.
It is impossible to sum up the impact of Gary’s life in a handful of sentences. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Gary was an individual who was tireless in problem solving and always found the answer to any mechanical breakdown, and never settled to hire someone for something that he could fix himself. He cared about those around him and lead an honest, humble, and meaningful life.
Gary was a beloved family member and friend who enjoyed sharing life experiences with others and noted no regrets in his choices. Even up until the end of his time, he only cared about others before himself and will truly be missed beyond what words can express.
