Garland Campbell, 80, of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday April 2, 2011. He was born on Tuesday July 8, 1930 in Amarillo, Texas to Garland Chase and Hettie Lee Campbell. He attended Amarillo Jr. High and High school. He then graduated from Texas Tech University in 1953. Garland moved to Houston in 1969. He worked for the Midcon Corporation (now Kinder Morgan) for over 30 years. Garland was a dedicated member of the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church where he taught Sunday school and was an Elder. He also volunteered for Vacation Bible School Little Yellow School House where he was known as “Grandpa”. His hobbies include fishing, coin collecting, and carpentry. Garland is survived by his wife, Marilyn Campbell; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl & Jerry McKenna; son and daughter-in-law, Steven & Terri Campbell; grandchildren, Tiffany & Jerry McKenna, Cory & Justin Campbell; sister and brother-in-law, Annalee & Pat Patterson; sister-in-law, Darlene Cheshire. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Wednesday April 6, 2011 in the Memorial Oaks Funeral home 13001 Katy Freeway Houston, Texas 77079. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday April 7, 2011 in the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church 11612 Memorial Drive Houston, Texas 77024.
