Fredda Foote Parker a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, the 7th of December 2010. She was born on the 19th of August 1929 in Fort Worth, Texas, to Marian and Kathryn Foote.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Briscoe Kelley Parker, Jr.; son, B. Kelley Parker III and wife, Cindy; daughter, Jennie Larkins and husband Kirven; son, John F. Parker and wife, Penny; grandchildren, B.K. "Coe" Parker IV, Ashley Parker Pope and husband, John, Cynthia Larkins Schaefer and husband, Joe, Ginger Larkins and Racheal Parker.
Fredda is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Tom Foote.
Fredda married Briscoe, the love of her life, on the 17th of December 1948 while attending Southern Methodist University as a Tri-Delt. She moved to Houston to rear her family and be a full time housewife. She was active in the Blue Bird Circle. She returned to finish her English degree at Houston Baptist University and saw the many educational needs in Houston. She was a founding member of The Neuhaus Education Center, she helped start The Orton Dyslexia Society, and the Houston Epilepsy Foundation.
Fredda was active and greatly enjoyed her many bridge groups. She enjoyed family times at Lakeside Country Club, Lakewood Yacht Club and later at the Houston Racquet Club. She was athletic, smart and a great friend to the special people who knew her. Her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life.
The memorial service is to be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 10th of December, in the chapel of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road in Houston, where Dr. Linda Christians, Executive Pastor, is to officiate.
Immediately following the service, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Hines Baker Room.
