Frank Anton Polak

Frank Anton Polak, 83, of Cypress, Texas, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on December 8, 2024. He was born on November 3, 1941, in East Bernard, Texas, to Frank and Agnes Polak. Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, known for his unwavering strength to survive, his sense of humor, and his love for his family.

A proud graduate of East Bernard High School, Frank's professional career spanned 35 years as a machinist and welder for TRW Missions. Although health challenges led him to retire on disability in his late 50s, Frank continued to look for other ways to occupy his time at home. He went on to establish a successful business, using his creativity and craftsmanship to create stained glass angels.

Most recently, Frank enjoyed sitting in his recliner playing games on his IPad or watching sports. Earlier in life, he was an avid fisherman, a skilled horseshoe pitcher, enjoyed gardening, cooking, barbecuing, and dancing. He also enjoyed occasional travel, with a special fondness for visiting the casinos in Louisiana, where he enjoyed the thrill of the slot machines.

Frank's love for his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was boundless. His family was his pride and joy, and he took immense pride in watching them grow. A true fighter, Frank spent much of his life battling Lupus and many other related conditions. His strength and determination in the face of these challenges earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

A proud veteran, Frank served in The Army National Guard for five years receiving an honorable discharge. He also volunteered as an EMT with West Harris County EMS Service and was a lifetime committeeman with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, demonstrating his commitment to both his community and country. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus Council 8771 with Christ the Redeemer, and the East Bernard KJT.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife Betty Polak, daughter Darlene Lockard and her husband Gary, daughter Tammy Morgan and her husband Ken, daughter Diane Brown and her husband Matt, granddaughter Courtney Kolski and her husband Chris, granddaughter Lauren Krogman, grandson Brian Morgan and his wife Alexandra, grandson Houston Hemphill, and granddaughter Mackenzy Hemphill, great-grandson Mason Kolski, great-grandson Liam Kolski, great-granddaughter Riley Kolski, step-grandchildren Blake Brown and Stephanie Brown, his brother Rudy Polak and is wife Mary Ann, his brother Dennis Polak and wife Brenda, his sister Jo Ann Priesler, his sister-in-law Darline Polak, his brother Johnny Polak and his wife Diana, and his brother Raymond Polak and his wife Janice.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agnes Polak, his brother Jody Polak, and brother-in-law Joe Priesler.

Frank will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of perseverance, strength, love, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
