Frances Fricke Baile was born in Boonville, Missouri, on the 9th of June, 1920 and passed away peacefully in Houston on the 12th of June, 2014. Raised in Sedalia, Missouri, the third child of four, her family is remembered as loving and full of laughter. She was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in 1938 and earned her bachelor's degree in education at Central Missouri State Teachers College in Warrensburg, Missouri in 1943. She taught elementary school in Sedalia for several years in the mid-1940's.
After World War II, she married a college friend, returned veteran, and the love of her life, Richard A. Baile, on the 6th of July, 1946. Together, they raised five children. During those years, Frances was a member of the Lutheran Church, then Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church; a member of Whispering Oaks Women's Club; and a charter member and past president of the Geophysical Auxiliary of Houston. She enjoyed playing bridge and gardening. She also tutored inner city children and Indian women learning English.
Primarily though, Frances devoted her life and generous love to her family. She was preceded in death by her dear son, John Baile. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Richard Baile; children, Ann Hamric, Carolyn Chandler, Betsy Taylor, and Jim Baile; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is to be conducted at four o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 27th of June, in the chapel of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive in Houston, where the Rev. George Aurich and the Rev. Rick Myers are to officiate.
Following the service, all are invited to greet the family during a reception commencing at five o'clock in the afternoon at Lakeside Country Club, 100 Wilcrest Drive in Houston. Prior to the memorial service, the family will have gathered for a private inurnment at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
