Florence Lavern Johnson, born May 5, 1924, went to her heavenly home on June 25, 2016. Florence loved to travel and this was the one trip she was looking forward to. She was a friend to all, a mentor to some and shelter in a storm for many. For over 30 years, she was a Sunday School teacher. Florence worked as a cook for many years in both hospitals and schools. It would be hard to count the number of children she spiritually influenced and helped raise. She was saved at an early age and baptized soon after; her talks with Jesus happened everyday after she read her Bible. Florence felt very blessed and shared those blessings with all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. We will always remember her legacy of love.
