He was born in Houston, TX on July 16, 1939. Fernando graduated from Jefferson Davis High School and pursued a cosmetologist license. He also studied various fields including real-estate and HVAC. His true love was dancing. He was a dance instructor at the Fred Astire School of Dancing.
He married Mary Sue Quintania on September 17, 1967.
He worked in printing for the Dioceses of Galveston Houston. He enjoyed sci-fi monster movies, reading, and retaining unique and interesting compilation of facts and information.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Sue Cardenas; his daughters Angelina Cardenas, Laura Solomon, and Stephanie Tucker; granddaughters Victoria Solomon and Elena Tucker. His also survived by his two remaining siblings, Roy Cardenas and Yolanda Cardenas.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Elena Alvarez, and his father, Jose Cardenas; his sister, Gloria Reyes; and his brothers, Bobby Cardenas, George Cardenas, Richard Cardenas, Carlos Cardenas, Joe Cardenas, and Rudy Cardenas.
