For 44 years, she oversaw the financial statements, which were used when the company went public in 2001, and was a part of an enterprise which generated hundreds of jobs. Besides her dedication to the family business, Evelyn also enjoyed traveling with family and friends, journeying to China, Egypt, West Africa, Mexico, Far East, Europe, and throughout the U.S. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church from 1997 to 2004.After retirement at age 87, Evelyn moved to Eustis, Florida, to live with her daughter, Karen.
