Enric Gonzalez

Enric was born to Reynaldo Gonzalez and Maria Delia Galvan, May 8, 1959, in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1977, and received an Associates degree from the ITT Technical Institute in 1992. He married Mireya Lira in 1987, and they lived together in Houston, Texas.

Enric was preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo Gonzalez and Maria Delia Gonzalez, his elder sister Lilia Evelia Perez, and younger sister Yolanda Gonzalez, and his nephews Vareck Herrera and Brian Nelson and his son Enric Rene Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife Mireya (Mimi) Gonzalez, of 36 years of marriage; his step-daughter, Sandra Ramirez and her husband Eric Ramirez. Also survived by his sister, Yvette Nelson, her husband, Wayne Nelson, and brother, Rene Gonzalez.

Enric was a quiet, yet humorous, thoughtful and caring husband, father and friend. He loved going to Galveston Beach to people watch and biking. He was well known in the neighborhood and beloved among his neighbors and the neighborhood dogs, where he lived for 52 years. Enric enjoyed the holiday seasons and enjoyed decorating the house, especially Halloween where he sat outside in costume to give candy out. His weekend pastimes included attending Houston area events such as Art Car parade, Bike Rally, Renaissance Festival, Astros baseball games and watching the Texans play. As well as being at the sidelines cheering his wife during all her marathons and fun runs.

He also enjoyed participating in bowling leagues as a young adult and traveling with his teammates for various tournaments. Enric also was a car enthusiast, specifically enjoying his Corvette around town.

Enric will be greatly missed by many.

A visitation for Enric will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A committal will occur Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A reception will occur Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.

Serving as pallbearers are Clem Cruz, David Enriquez, Marcelo Gutierrez, Victor Herrera, Vincent Herrera, Alfonso Lira, Sergio A. Lira and Jay Wendell.
