Emma Nell "Mimi" Rucker, 76, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. She was born in Anderson, Texas on February 11, 1935 and grew up in Madisonville, Texas where she graduated from high school. She loved to read, write and watch movies.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Galena Park for 40 plus years. She worked at Parker Brothers on Navigation for many years and also met her best friend Brenda Keener.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Buna Wilson, sister Linda Elrod and brother E.A. Wilson, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter: Dawn Thompson Fisher and husband Ted "Butch"; sons: Kenneth Edward Thompson and wife Carol and Steven Craig Rucker and wife Rosie; sister: Barbara Ann Cannon; grandchildren: Brandon, Carly, Caleb, Travis and Anna; great grandchildren: Ian, Joshua, Jordan and numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law: Katie Wilson.
A visitation with the family will be on Friday, January 27, 2012, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Advantage Howard-Glendale Funeral Home, 1015 Federal Road.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Second baptist Church of Galena Park, 1913 18th Street, with Pastor Chester Poston officiating.
The family would like to thank the care givers of East Harris County Hospice and special thanks to Carol Brown.
