Elizabeth V. Rockholt, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the age of 78. She made her home in Midlothian, Texas, but her roots began in Waco, where she was born on February 27, 1947.
Elizabeth had a heart full of love and compassion. She lived her life with a servant’s heart, always putting others before herself and loving like Jesus. Her faith was the foundation of her life—she loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, and mind.
A dedicated member of the Cowboy Church in Midlothian, Elizabeth was especially active in the church’s ladies’ group, the Joy Walkers, where she found joy and fellowship in serving others.
Elizabeth found beauty in the simple things. She loved tending to her garden, sewing, and baking sweet treats—especially for her grandchildren. One of her most cherished traditions was decorating Christmas cookies with them each year, a memory that will live on in the hearts of her family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Gloria St. John; father, W.H. Nichols; stepfather, Billy St. John; brother, Tommy Nichols; and her son, Kevin Rockholt.
Elizabeth is survived by her devoted husband, John Rockholt; her children: Christine McGrew, William Welch, and Heather Peña; her brothers, Bill Jr. St. John, David St. John, and David Nichols; her sisters, Cynthia Pockrus, Melody Cline and Terri Chappell; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
