Liz moved to Houston in the 1960’s. During that time, she married Dr. Phil Spence. Liz worked in his office after leaving the Veteran’s Administration. After leaving her employment with Dr. Spence, she then worked for the IRS, and Social Security. Liz married her lifelong love, Dick Hoefle, on the 1st of July 1985.
From early childhood, Liz enjoyed hunting and fishing. Her passion was collecting Native American turquoise and silver jewelry, most of which she gifted to her special family friends, Elizabeth Creer and Janet Lindsley. Liz also enjoyed flowers, and she planted many in her yard, which provided enjoyment from her bedroom window during her long illness.
Liz received attentive care from Maribel Hernandez; the caretakers of Sid Gerber and Associates, thanks to Amanda, Enid, Ginny, Ivan, Maria, and Valerie; her nurse, Patty Roberts and the Hospice Team; plus friends, Carmela and Kelly Frels. Loving neighbors, Angela and Steve Caloudas prepared special foods; and Rhanda and Albert DaShiell gifted Liz with her cat Baby.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 11th of June, in the Library and Grand Foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
