Elida Lopez Rodriguez

Our beautiful mother Elida Lopez Rodriguez was called home by the Lord on August 25, 2024 at her home. She was born on October 12, 1935 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, Texas. Elida had 4 children, B. Livia, Yvette, Hernando, Dolly and husband Richard Escobedo, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Elida graduated from Milby High School in 1955 in Houston, Texas. She and her twin sister studied to be nurses at St. Joseph Hospital. Her other occupations were telephone operator, cafeteria worker at Atkinson Elementary, various retail stores and volunteered at church. Her most loved job was being a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Elida played piano and the violin at one point in her life and loved music and dancing. Parties with her family were always a priority and chocolate. The example and teachings she gave to us will be carried on with us and taught to the next generations.

Elida is preceded in death by her husband Santos Rodriguez, previous husband Miguel Hernandez, parents Pascual Lopez and Emilia Trevino Lopez, daughter B. Livia Hernandez Lopez Mitchell, grandson Brent Michael Mitchell and great-grandson Cyle Lopez.

We are here for a brief moment in time and my mother made good use of that time especially her devotion to her faith in God, Jesus and Our Blessed Mother Mary and her family.
