Eleanor Jean McCauley was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on Monday November 13, 1933 to parents Isaac Boyd and Jeannie Marie (Carl) Crossley. She passed away in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the age of 81.
Jean was a wonderful and beloved mother, step mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to many. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Terri L. Baxter; step daughter, Molly Vernon and husband Scott; five grandsons, Kerry G. Colwell II, Kristopher J. Colwell, Craig N. Duren, August Vernon and Austin Vernon; four great grandsons and four great granddaughters. Jean is also survived by her sister, Ruby Carr; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Jean loved country music and loved to dance. She was also an avid deer hunter and was pinned "Miss Never Miss" by those who hunted with her. Jean was a cosmetologist by trade, but after retiring, loved hunting and dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren. Everyone who knew Jean, loved her.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate this wonderful woman's life from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at her home in Houston.
