Edith was a strong, independent and caring woman that pursued life to the fullest. Her family was most important to her. She always took care of those around her, even while working at her owned business, Our Motor Company, Inc. from which she proudly retired in 1984.
Edith, also lovingly known as mom, maw-maw or granny, loved quilting. Many people were blessed with one of her handmade quilts. She always embraced the fun in life, dancing to zydeco music, traveling, playing shuffleboard and bingo, manicures and pedicures, having her hair done, feeding the deer and cows, camping trips, cruises, bonfires and family get togethers. Her door was always open and there was always a homemade meal on the table. She loved to cook and never used a recipe; gumbo, biscuits, roast, fried shrimp, all her kids’ requests. Holiday celebrations with family were her favorite. Life never slowed down for her and she loved every minute of it!
She leaves to treasure her memories, siblings, Percy McGee(Morgan) & James McGee. Children; Carolyn Zischang(Kenneth), Verna McClelland(Gavin), Edith Hicks(Gary), Barbara Walpole(Vance) and Raymond Davis(Colleen). Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Davis(1994) and Floyd Kresge(2003).
Special thanks to Hospice in the Pines and Senior Helpers for their compassionate and exceptional care.
