Dwight Eric Johnson

Dwight Eric Johnson was born April 26, 1958, in Houston, Texas where he attended Burrus Elementary and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. His parents Travis and Vivian Johnson preceded him in death.  Dwight peacefully passed away on Sunday August 21, 2022, with his wife by his side. He fought a long and hard fight, but he always returned home. This time, the Lord said it’s time for you to come home where you can relax and will no longer have to suffer, Dwight was 64 years old.

Dwight spent his entire life in Houston, Texas where he met and married his wife, Lucille. He worked at Texas Hobby Auto until his open-heart surgery in 2005. A famed trail rider and dog trainer; he loved going on weeklong and weekend Tailrides.  Being the cowboy and dog lover that he was, Dwight lived his life to fullest. A son, brother, father, uncle and friend to all… he knew no strangers.  A brother and dad to many in the community, he touched many lives every step of the way.  Even in his sickness, people would say “you are teaching me what unconditional love is all about”. Dwight knew and loved the Lord.

Dwight leaves his wife Lucille of 35 plus years; children, siblings, grandchildren, Godchildren and close friends to carry on his memories.

A wake for Dwight will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022. A reception will occur Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022.
