Dorothy “Dot” Henry Chalene was a devoted and spirited wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Surrounded by her family, she peacefully greeted our Heavenly Father on June 24th, 2023 at the age of 85 in The Woodlands, Texas.
Dot was born to Lucille Breaux Henry and Paul Henry at home on February 5th, 1938 in Sulphur, Louisiana. One of thirteen children, she quickly developed a passion for serving and caring for the well-being of others, and this ultimately led her to pursue a career in healthcare, where doctors recognized her smart-witted nature and her commitment to connecting with patients.
Dorothy married the love of her life, Elliot “Smokey” Chalene on January 26th, 1957, and their love evolved into four close-knit daughters and an eventual stepson. Little did she know, this was just the beginning of a large, sprawling family — something that gave her infinite joy during her earthly life.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Elliot “Smokey” Chalene, her parents Lucille Breaux Henry and Paul Henry, her siblings Herman Henry, Paulene Dupreé, Yvonne Brooks, Roy Henry, Paul “Brud” Henry, Theresa Henry, Harry Henry, her granddaughter Brandy Cisneros and husband of her granddaughter Mellissa Hubenak, Michael Hubenak.
