“Meanmama” passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was warm and caring (with a little “Irish temper”) and touched the heart of every person she met, changing many lives.
Travelling extensively, she lived in Paris for four years and toured Europe, before joining her husband, Paul, in Asia. Graduating as a Certified Payroll Professional in her 50s, she rose to head of Enron’s Payroll Tax Department, then retired to teach in her church nursery.
Preceded by her husband, Paul, and sons, Nick Wiley and Brent Mejia, she is survived by daughter, Gayla Kelley, and sons, Paul Jr. and Lance Mejia, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family extends special thanks to the caregivers, friends and family who loved Meanmama, making her last days peaceful.
Family and friends gathered with Rev. Dr. Larry Bertrand and Rev. Dr. Duane Brooks, and celebrated this wonderful woman's life during a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, at Tallowood Baptist Church, 555 Tallowood in Houston, Texas, 77024, (713) 468-8241.
