Doris May Carnes, age 86, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 in Montgomery, TX. Doris was born April 22, 1936. She was a Conroe resident for 53 years after moving from Houston TX in 1969. Doris took upon multiple work interest she was a bar and snack bar manager, she worked for Conroe ISD, she then retired as co-owner of Double Lake Concession, she worked for a boat rental in Sam Houston National Forest in Cold Spring, and she sold Avon for the next 10 years.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Melvin Wayne Carnes; daughter Susan Kay Claire; father Willie Walter Fritsche; mother Mary M. Mitschke; 11 siblings.
She is survived by her 3 children Ronald Wayne Carnes (Sharon Carnes), Mikel Lee Carnes (Rita Carnes), and Timothy Allen Carnes; 18 grand children; 38 great grand children; 7 great great grand children with 2 on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Doris will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
Serving as pallbearers are Mikel Carnes, Eric Carnes, Mark Carnes, Carson Burns, Thomas Cox and William Daw.
