Dolores was born to Marcos Ramirez and Felipa Gonzales, June 19, 1945, in Houston, Texas. She graduated with a high school equivalency degree in 1981 demonstrating it is never too late to achieve a goal. She married Jessie De La Rosa in 1962, and they lived in Batson, Texas where together they raised three children. They later moved to Baytown and made their home there.
She is survived by husband, Jessie De La Rosa, of Baytown, Texas; sister, Gloria Ramirez, of California; son, David De La Rosa, of Baytown, Texas; grandson, Jacob Ainsworth and wife Mary with children Noah, Levi, Rhett and Juliette of Mississippi; granddaughter, Megan Paige, of Baytown, Texas; grandson, Sean De La Rosa, of Tyler, Texas; granddaughter, Gabrieal De La Rosa, of Tyler, Texas; grandson, Derrick De La Rosa, of Baytown, Texas; grandson Chandler De La Rosa, of Baytown, Texas; grandson, Kyle De La Rosa, of Houston, Texas; granddaughters, Lacey & Mia Martin of Tyler, Texas; daughter, Jessica Want, of Red Oak, Texas; grandson Quintin Winters and wife Brittany with children Dade & Jocelyn, of Waxahachie, Texas; grandson Lance Winters and wife Jordan with child Camden, of Heath, Texas; granddaughter, Tyme Rodius and husband Nick and son Kayden, of Arlington, Texas; grandson, Willie Smith, of Red Oak, Texas; daughter, Raquel Hamons and husband Steve, of Tyler, Texas; granddaughter, Kelsey Shipp and husband Austin with son Mason, of Oklahoma; grandson, Eric Hamons, of Yoakum, Texas; numerous brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by mother, Felipe Gonzales; father, Marcos Ramirez; sister, Gertrude Saucedo; brother, Marcos Ramirez Jr.; brother, Demencio Ramirez; sister, Alice Maldonado; brother, Roy Ramirez; brother, Claude “Candy” Suarez; and nephew, Nathan Suarez.
Dolores worked as a wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. Although her pride was serving her family, she sometimes worked outside the home. Two jobs she found great joy in were substitute teaching at Hardin ISD and serving as an outreach counselor for Maximus Texas Health Steps. She served as a volunteer for her children’s school activities as they grew up and was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Liberty, Texas for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed jewelry making, crocheting, sewing, and crafts.
To honor Dolores, a rosary is scheduled for Friday, July 9th at 6 in the evening at Forest Park Lawndale. A traditional mass has been planned for Saturday, July 10th at 11 am at Forest Park Lawndale with graveside services immediately following.
