Denise Ione Morosin Blonstein, age 60, passed away July 31, 2018 in Houston, Texas. She was born on January 11, 1958 in Houston, Texas to Michael and Ione May (Frye) Morosin, who predeceased her. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years David Samuel Blonstein of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by their sons, Dustin Blonstein and fiance Laura Thomann and Dalton Blonstein, step daughter Shawnna Blonstein Torres and husband Dennis Torres, step son Shad Blonstein, stepdaughter Shea and husband Kevin Land; grandchildren Hunter Smith, Tristan Blonstein and Scarlett Land; Denise's brothers Michael Lynn Morosin, Kevin Morosin, Dennis Morosin and wife Brenda Morosin; nieces and nephews, Detra Morosin, Tracy Schwindt Moore, Heather and Justin Gordon, Dennis Jay and Laura Morosin, Mike and Melanie Morosin; cousins and second cousins.
Denise was raised in the Oak Forest area of Houston, Texas and attended Oak Forest Elementary School, F.M. Black Junior High and was a proud graduate with the class of 1976 from S. P. Waltrip Senior High School. She continued her education and studied at Blinn College. During her school years she was a very active athlete on the volleyball, softball, swimming, and diving teams, including the YMCA, Oaks Dads Club as well as her schools. She also enjoyed bowling at the Knights of Columbus State Tournaments and loved playing softball. She was actively involved in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Ladies Auxiliary, Children’s Liturgy and Italian Club. She was a true Aggie fan and a member of the Aggie Mom Club (Whoop!).
She worked for the Cypress Fairbanks ISD as a diagnostication/SLP secretary at Hopper Middle School. In addition she worked as an official/referee with softball and volleyball with the Texas Association of Sports Officials.
Denise has served many years with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, currently holding her Lifetime Committee Badge. She has volunteered countless hours with the Special Children's Committee and Souvenir Program Committee. She is also a member of the Beefpokers BBQ Team where she has worked with her brother Kevin in competive BBQ cookoffs, including the World's Championship Bar-Be-Que Contest in Houston, Texas.
