David Anthony Spencer Sr., 62, passed away on June 5, 2021, surrounded by his family at their home in Cypress, Texas. He battled cancer for the last five years and through these trials his faith in the Lord shone brightly for all to see. His faith was his legacy.
David, affectionately called Tony or Sixteen, was born in London, England and raised in Clarendon, Jamaica to parents Beryl Bennett Watson and David Spencer. He emigrated to the United States to attend Prairie View University and made Houston, Texas his second home shortly thereafter. He spent more than twenty years working alongside his wife running a home health agency. He loved cooking and spending time with family and friends. David was a passionate Christian and attended the West Houston Seventh Day Adventist Church. His faith and his love for others were core tenets of his life.
He was an adoring and loving partner to his wife Winsome, who survived him. He is also survived by his beloved children: David Jr. and Ashley, Danae and Eric, and Dale and Lauren. He was a grandfather to 4 children: David the third, Madison, Nola, and Noah. Aside from being survived by his wife and children, David also leaves behind his siblings, Courtney Watson and Cynthia Dawkins, as well as several nieces and nephews. David was a selfless and dedicated friend and served as a father figure to countless individuals and will be greatly missed by all.
The visitation and funeral service will be held at West Houston Seventh Day Adventist Church in Houston, Texas on June 15, 2021 at starting at 10:00 am. The burial will take place at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home at 12:30 pm.
