David Earl Key, Sr., of Spring, Texas passed away Nov. 17, 2019. He was born to Willie and Berneice Key in Kilbourne, Louisiana on Sept. 19, 1934. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda (Crain) Key, to whom he was married from Sept. 5, 1951, until her death on June 15, 1987. He is also preceded by his grandson, Andrew Key Hughes.
David has lived in Spring, Texas and has been a member of Spring Baptist Church for over 30 years. He started his career as a dry cleaning and laundry supply salesman, where he worked for over 35 years. He later worked for and retired with Klein I.S.D.
David is survived by Joyce Key, his wife since Nov. 5, 1988. He is also survived by his children, David and Clarice Key, Max Key, Danette Key, Gary and Sonya Key; his stepson, Michael Leach; his grandchildren, Jared and Heather Douglas, Keith and Lori Hughes, Jessica and David Harris, Deanna and Brian Cameron, Adam and Karen Hughes, Courtney and Daniel McInnis, Aaron and Jessica Hughes, Glenda Key, Laura Key; his step-granddaughter, Jennifer Leach; his great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, McKinlii and Nikolaus Douglas, Colby, Courtlyn and Keyton Cameron, Parker and Darby McInnis, Zane, Zayden, AJ, Jaxson, Jacoby, Jace Hughes; and his step-great-granddaughter, Addilyn Biundelillo.
Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home - Champions, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway at 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21. Funeral services begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the Committal Service at 1:00 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway. Active pallbearers are Jared Douglas, David Harris, Deanna and Brian Cameron, Courtney and Daniel McInnis, Adam Hughes, Aaron Hughes, and Laura Key.
