David was born on September 22, 1961, in Houston, Texas to Joe Taylor Coward, Sr. and Janie Lou (Askew) Coward. He passed away on August 22, 2022 at the age of 60.
David proudly served his country in the United States Airforce during the Desert Storm Era. Later he served with the Harris County Sheriff’s Department and as a Special Investigator for the Department of Family Protective Services. David was a charismatic man who loved to talk with everyone and was fiercely protective of his family.
David enjoyed working on his jeep, loved all things Airforce, police, and firearms. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1434.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Coward, Sr. and Janie Coward and his brother Joe Coward, Jr. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Gayla Coward; daughter Megan Davis (Colton Davis); stepsons Riley, Ryan, and Evan Cleary; sisters Sharon King (Lenus King), Debra Hillhouse, and Judy Coward; granddaughters Kimber and Kennedy Davis; many loving nieces and nephews; and his pets, Max, Milo, Chloe and Bailey.
