Darryl L. Wyatt, age 49, of Houston, TX left this earth to be with his heavenly father on Friday, the 7th of December 2018. Darryl was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Bossier City, LA. He later united with Sunflower Baptist Church on the 7th of January 1990. He attended St. John’s Downtown.
Darryl was fiercely intelligent, creative, artsy, cultured and well - traveled. His love for his alma mater, LSU, and its football program rivaled most Tiger fans. He had an intense love for unique and beautiful objects and places. He loved live music, great singing, comedy, interior design, building/home design, history and travel. He loved cheeseburgers, chocolate chip cookies and hated to talk on the phone. He also loved to cook; his oyster dressing and pecan pie will be missed. More than anything, the absence of his kind heart and generous spirit will leave a void in the world.
Darryl had a heart for family. He often said that family first and foremost was everything. Loved ones that cleared the path for Darryl are his father, Benjamin Wyatt, his grandfather Cephas Bowie, his grandmother Eloise Bowie, mother in law Doris A. Hall and grandmother in law Willie Mae Mitchell. His life partner and constant companion was his wife of 19 years, Belinda Hall Wyatt. Loved ones that will miss him until they meet again are his loving mother, Annie L. Wyatt; dedicated sister, Danika Wyatt; and adored nephew Christian Wyatt Smith. His brothers in law, William Keith Smith, Sidney Francis, Adrayll Askew and Christopher Askew will miss his love for the family. His sisters in law, Leia Francis, Shari Askew Hall and Ashley Askew will miss his fun nature and laughter. His cousin Reginald Abrams, Jr. will miss his protective spirit. His cherished nieces and nephews Tanisha Smith Bell, Corey Francis, Cassidy Francis, Collin Francis and Callie Francis will also miss him. His spirit will live on in the many aunts, uncles and cousins’ lives he touched.
His professional career as a Subcontracts Director allowed him to travel and live all over the world. He took great pride in his career and mentoring younger civil engineers in the industry. He was highly respected and often sought out to mitigate challenging projects. He loved giving people opportunities and advice to expand their careers and take care of their families.
