the Lord on November 9, 2021 at the age of 97. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents,
Jesús and Felicitas González and siblings, Miguel González, Esther González, Frances
González, Inez Patiño, Gloria Aguilar, and son-in-law, Juan Rangel. He leaves behind his wife
of 73 years, Lillian González and daughter Anna Marie Rangel; his three granddaughters Rosa
Silva (Jesus Silva), Ana Rangel, Laura Ramos (Angel Ramos); his seven great-grandchildren
Rebecka Dueñez, Analissa Dueñez, Alaina Silva, Jonathan Silva, Katya Ramos, Sofia Ramos,
and Lukas Ramos; his siblings Sr. Lucinda González, MCDP and Jesse González; as well as
many nieces and nephews. Danny was born and raised in Second Ward in Houston, Texas. He
attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School and graduated from Jeff Davis High School, where he
was a member of the ROTC. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps,
and later attended South Texas College of Law. Danny proudly served our country in WWII and
the Korean War. He began his career as a mail carrier at First City National Bank, and retired
from the Corporate Offices in Downtown Houston as an Investment Officer after 45 years. He
served and volunteered his time on many committees and organizations, including; Knights of
Columbus (various councils), LULAC, Houston Rodeo Go Tejano Committee, Electoral Precinct
Judge, Youth Mediator, Curcillo in Christianity, OLMC New Generation Seniors, OLMC Board of
Education, and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He had a passion for helping others, but
especially in education and raising money for youth scholarships. In his spare time, he enjoyed
dancing with his “Sweetheart” Lilly, boxing, golfing, photography, traveling, barbecuing, joking,
dining out, and shopping. Danny will be remembered as a dedicated and loving husband,
Daddy, and Pepo. He will be missed dearly by all, and the sound of his laughter will forever live
in our hearts.
A visitation for Daniel will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 6723 Whitefriars Dr, Houston, TX 77087. A funeral service will occur Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6723 Whitefriars Dr, Houston, TX 77087. A committal service will occur Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 1:20 PM at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
