Cynthia Jean Miller

Cynthia (Cindy) Jean Miller (nee Freeze) was born on February 11, 1948 in Texarkana, Arkansas. She went home to her heavenly resting place on Friday, September 2, 2022 at her home in Dickson, TX. She was devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to many grandchildren and great-children. She attended Aldine High School and left to pursue marriage and a family at 16. She married John William Miller on June 27, 1964. Their first child, Harry Eugene Miller was born December 20, 1964. A few years after Harry, Cynthia and John welcomed their second child, Doris (Dori) Ann Miller, on June 17, 1969. The family settled on the east end of Houston in Jacinto City, Texas. Cindy loved cooking for loved ones, art and painting, makeup and hair curlers, puzzles and Diet Dr. Pepper. She was a calm, foundational presence in her family, and loved by all who knew her. She is precede in death by parents Herbert and Juanita Freeze, husband John Miller, brother Gene Freeze, son Harry Miller, son-in-law Adam Powledge, and grandchildren Jake, Blake, Rachel, and Isaac Powledge. She leaves behind daughter and son-in-law, Dori and Toby Phillips of Dickson, Texas, grandchildren Patricia (PJ) and Zack Holliday of Nassau Bay, Samantha and Brian Nelhs of League City, Amber and Dustin Colvin of Monroe, Louisiana, Austin and Elli Powledge of Livingston, Texas, Shelbylynn Miller of Houston, Texas, Derrick Miller of Pennsylvania, Dustin and Lawren Phillips of Tyler, Texas, her siblings, Mary, Charlene, Sue, Vanita, Patrick (Pat), Linda and Dodie, and 14 precious great grandchildren. Cindy will be missed by all who knew and loved her until we all meet again in eternity.

A visitation for Cynthia will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM with the burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
