He was born in Dallas, TX on March 2nd 1950. Curtis graduated from South Houston High School and attended San Jacinto College before honorably serving in the United States Air Force as a Physical Therapist and Photographer.
He was married to Myra Ann Dromgoole on September 25th, 1975.
Curtis held careers in Photography, Imaging Sciences and Video Networking & Information Technology for Dresser-Atlas, NASA Johnson Space Center and the University of Houston respectively.
He was a longtime member of the Episcopal Church serving the Diocese of Texas in several ministries over the years; including Lay Reader, Prayer Leader, School Superintendent and in multiple roles as an Officer of the Vestry.
Curtis had a passion for photography, wilderness camping & travel, fishing, sailing, computer & technology sciences, was an avid music lover and a voracious reader. He championed for civil rights, equality and environmental stewardship throughout his lifetime. Ever a committed family man, loving father and husband, he was always known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and a kind and compassionate spirit.
Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Roger, and his mother, Dellora. He is survived by former spouse and mother of his children, Myra; his sons, Matthew, Aaron, Joshua and Benjamin; his grandchildren Chelsea, Haleigh, Tess, Emma, Paige, Falynn, Carter, Drew, Chloe and Annabelle; his brothers and best friends Jim and Buford.
