Cristino Antonio Flores

Cristino was born in Laredo, TX on April 07, 1936, to parents Ruben and Maria Flores. He attended Brownsville High School where he met his beautiful bride and wife of 62 years, Maria Tijerina Flores.

Cristino was a member of The National Guard as well as the U.S. Army Reserves. He became a Master Electrician and worked for HISD for 10 years. Prior to HISD, he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 716. He was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista and Principe de Paz.

Cristino loved old western movies and sports. He enjoyed walking, dancing, singing, and grilling on the weekends. Although he never owned one, he had a love for horses.

Cristino is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Tijerina Flores, his parents, Ruben and Maria Pedraza Flores; brothers, Ernesto Flores, Abel Flores, Hipolito Flores and grandsons, Ruben Flores Jr. and Joyceon Flores.

He is survived by his children, Ruben Flores and wife Dora, Lillian Flores, Laura and husband Guadalupe Adame, Chris Flores and wife Rosie; grandchildren Jacob Adame, Ashley Flores, Celestia Gonzalez, Kailie Martin, Selena Burciaga, Xavier Flores, Matthew Flores, and Brianna Flores; great-grandchildren Jacob Jr., Joseph, Rafael, Sebastian, Arian, Mia, Averie, Xavien, Josiah, Vanellope, Lorenzo, Kehlani, Kaisen, Alysia, Melody, and Jocelyn.

Serving as pallbearers: Jacob Adame, Xavier Flores, Matthew Flores, Gerardo Burciaga, Raphael Gonzalez, and Logan Martin. Honorary pallbearers: Jacob Adame Jr. Joseph Adame, Raphael Gonzalez Jr., Sebastian Burciaga, Josiah Burciaga, and Xavien Gonzalez.

A special thanks to Oasis Hospice, we would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for all the care the staff provided in our father’s final months. It was greatly appreciated!

A visitation for Cristino will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
