Celebrating the Life of Connie Mae Stokes, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on September 2, 2021. Connie was born in Nacogdoches, TX on June 29, 1931 to Herbert Lee Polk and Ettye Florence Polk.
She was the first of three children. She attended Appleby Elementary and SFA Demonstration High School. In 1949 she married the love of her life, Bob Stokes. She and Bob raised their three boys, Russell, Philip and Bryan in Houston, Texas. She was a member of Champion Forest Baptist Church. Connie had a passion for traveling and enjoyed listen to Old Hymns.
Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby L. Stokes; son, Russell D. Stokes; parents Herbert Lee and Ettye Florence Polk and brother, John Polk.
She is survived by her sons, Philip D. Stokes and wife Juliann M. Stokes, Bryan Stokes and wife Rebecca Stokes; grandchildren, Sarah M. Radford and husband Shawn Radford, Kyle Stokes and wife Laura Stokes, Lauren Dunleavy and husband Troy Dunleavy, Rebecca Amber Zalomski and husband Zachary Zalomski, Kirsten Stokes DeRostaing and husband Alexander DeRostaing; great grandchildren, James Radford, Claire Radford, Rowan Stokes, Christopher Dunleavy, Caleb Dunleavy; sister, Mamie Stokes and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation for Connie will be held on September 13, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am Funeral service will occur September 13, 2021 beginning at 11:00:00am at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy Houston, Texas 77060. Interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner’s Children's Hospital.
