Clay Ashley Light, born to Thomas A. Light, Jr. and Mary Foreman Light on Oct. 9, 1958 passed away in Houston, Texas on Nov. 26, 2012. He was a kind, gentle, simple man with a quiet, sincere belief in God. He loved his family and treated his fellow man with respect. He will be greatly missed. Clay enjoyed life to the fullest; he was a science fiction novel enthusiast, and a scrabble genius. He loved the beach and fishing, and his barbeque was the best. His home and yard is filled with plants he propagated, he was a bird watcher… on and on goes the list. Clay’s work history is long and varied. He retired from Sam’s Club as their receiving manager. He and his soul-mate, Kelly, then bought a home in Buffalo, Texas. Clay was forever learning, but his formal education was at Houston public schools: Wilson, Wharton, Lanier Jr. High, Sharpstown Jr. High, Sharpstown High School, and Texas A & M in Bryan, College Station. Clay is predeceased by his father. He is survived by his mother, Mary Foreman Light of Houston, his brother, Kirby and wife, Rhonda, nephew Kirby Jr and niece Rachel, all from Washington State; Brother, Kranston from Houston; Sister, Lacy from Hawaii; his soul-mate, Kelly, and her two children, David Householder and wife, Wendy, and Jeanette Cain and husband, Mike and their daughter, Lilly Star Cain; and Keely Woods, and Sheneigne Cummings. Special thanks to Keely Woods for being there when Clay and Kelly needed someone in their home. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd Houston, Texas 77008.
