Clare Turner Hall, 94, died peacefully in her Cypress, Texas home on Saturday, June 15. Born to Clarence Joseph Turner and Julia Kirk Turner, Clare was a fifth-generation Texan and a native Houstonian. She attended Houston public schools and graduated high school from Ward-Belmont, Nashville, TN. An honor graduate, she received her BA from University of Houston and her MA from University of Texas, Austin. Member of Who's Who in American Universities, Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Scholastic Fraternity. and student government honor organizations. Present and past affiliations include Houston Jr. Forum, College Women's Club, and Episcopal Churchwoman.
Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Hall, Jr. and her brother, T. Kirk Whatley. Survived by daughter Julia Clare Hall, son Joseph Woodard (Jay) Hall, grandson William Turner Sanders, sister-in-law Kathleen F. Whatley, nieces Christina Leach, Martha Whatley Ganjineh, Charlotte Whatley, and Kathleen (Katie) Whatley.
